Frank K. Root III 

Senior Development Engineer, 208 Wireless Business Integration, Inc.

Frank assumed the duties of Development Engineer for mobile applications in October of 2007. Since then he has been working on custom data modules for Wireless Remote Inspection Projects in addition to the back office interfaces programs and data analysis tools.  

Frank became involved with 2Moto, Inc. a Powersports company with an innovative new snow vehicle in October of 2004, after eight years as a partner of MicroWorks, Inc., a software company located in Boise, Idaho. He is currently serving as Controller and Business Systems Manager, drawing from many years of systems experience and a Masters of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. 

Frank’s first exposure to computers occurred in 1974 during his senior year as a Chemistry major at BYU. He wrote his first program, “Three Dimensional Display of Molecular Structure”, and has been immersed in the technology ever since. After receiving his MBA two years later, he began a business career with Hewlett-Packard’s Boise Printer Division and worked as an engineer on the product which led to HP’s successful Laserjet product line. He later joined the Information Technology department and turned his focus to management information systems and developed a lab costing system for new products under development. 

Ever seeking new opportunities and adventure, Frank left HP to join a consulting firm, Computer Partners, where he worked on developing a General Ledger system for the State of Idaho. He later became involved in a joint venture between his company and Simplot, Co. Simplot Data Systems was formed to develop new software for an emerging agricultural market. He rose quickly in the new organization from programmer analyst to R & D manager and then to Operations Manager. 

In 1986, Frank rejoined HP in the Disk Memory Division (DMD) where he worked as a marketing engineer and later as Manager of the Software Productivity group. His team was responsible for developing tools and strategies for increasing the productivity, training and effectiveness of DMD’s vast software engineering pool. HP is very high on education and Frank took advantage by completing a full curriculum of University accredited undergraduate and postgraduate level Computer Science courses. 

In 1996, Frank left HP to join MicroWorks, Inc. as a partner. Along with several successful consulting projects he developed a point-of-sale product under the RegistWARE trademark name and served as President of that operation under the MicroWorks organization. He architected, designed, developed and introduced the product to the market in 1999. He managed its major upgrade to replace its database system and add significant functionality and it continues to be sold today.
